Cedar Waxwing


The colors are a little dull because of the humidity and lighting, but you can make out the crest, the eye stripe, the yellowish cast to the underside, and the buff-brown back of this super cool bird. I wish you could see the "wax" tips on the wings in this photo - they really do look like they've got tiny beads of red wax on them.

Spotted 6/9/12 in the field by the Carpenters' house.
